Yaf can be installed from source code by:
cd /path/to/yaf-src/
phpize
./configure
make
sudo make install

Install PHP-YAF to Ubuntu from PPA:
> sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mikespook/php5-yaf
> sudo apt-get update
> sudo apt-get install php5-yaf

Yaf is an PECL extension, thus you can simply install it by:
pecl install yaf
